Is there really such a thing as Accidental Encores? I'm pretty sure there isn't but you know it just happens that way sometimes.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book from an author new to me. While the ending is a bit predictable, I did enjoy the banter between the two main characters Craig and Allie, as well as the secondary character in Craig's niece Leah. While the ending of the book was predictable, I did find that there was depth to the characters and that the relationships built within the book was not as predictable as the ending. It was great to see Leah reach out to Allie to form a special bond through shared similar experiences, and to see Craig let loose a little. The author did a great job in leading us on, watching the friendship develop between Craig and Allie all while rooting for them to be together as they helped each other find their own paths towards love.
Overall, I really did enjoy this book. It was a quick lighthearted read, and had great moments between the characters that will resonate with anyone who is a step child, or not sure how you feel about turning a friendship into something more.
