Mac is such a loyal and devoted daughter, setting aside her own hopes and dreams to care for her ailing father. When she is asked to cover her "enemy's" wedding, life gets interesting in a sweet and very entertaining way.
Mac is a favorite character for sure, and I enjoyed the lessons she learns along the way, especially in regards to judging. Although ten years may seem like a long time, life is short. And speaking of short, I wish this story would have been longer, but Springer did a great job of taking this story and running with it, giving it a complete and satisfying delivery.

Sweet novella about returns and what one truly wants/is.
Ethan's sister and her actor fiancee want just a small, private wedding. So Ethan returns to their hometown to put everything in order. But what he hasn't thought of before was how much work a wedding is and how the coach's kid daughter might change - into a beautiful woman.
Mackenzie wants to put her embarrassing high school years behind her. She has returned to her hometown after her dad's mild stroke, dreaming about leaving again for a serious journalistic works, not just a small town weekly newspaper with small town stories. But celebrity's wedding might be her ticket out - if Hollis hadn't put her through hell at the high school. And if her brother hasn't been her crush then.
Sweet novella about the true values and true self-esteem.
I liked Mac and Ethan, and I loved the second couple - Hollis and Connor, as they are people I would love to have in my friend circle.
Sweet, enriching read.
