Been going through my old netgalley requests and seeing what I have forgotten to give a review to and what I still need to read. I don't recall requesting this book or why. I haven't read the first book in the series and reading the synopsis present me doesn't have the same interest in this title as past me did.

Again Rachel Johns shows how versatile she is at writing books. This is part of a series called Montana Born brides and each book is written by different authors. It's a great story about single mum Magdalena and her daughter Bella who move back to their hometown after Magdalena flees when she found herself 17 and expecting. Rachel does an excellent job of getting the local lingo correct, I love it when a writer does their research well. The slow build up to a HEA with musician Jake is nice and my only criticism is that I was left wanting more, and felt it was a little rushed in the end, but this is a novella and is perfect for when you are in between big books and just want something to fill the gap, which this did nicely. Fans of small town romance will love this book.

A sweet "coming of age" story...forced to confront the past she left behind and the future that should have been. This showcases her Magdalena's growth, her transition from being to living. A great cast of characters provide a colorful tapestry to accompany Magdalena and Jake's unfolding relationship.
