This is one of those stories I liked but didn’t love but felt invested enough that I wanted to continue reading but felt no sense of urgency to do so. I enjoyed the overall storyline and found the characters interesting. Sometimes it did feel a bit too fast-paced and some things were glossed over making me feel disconnected. Overall, I liked the emotion and drama. This one falls into the "good" category for me.
Thanks Netgalley for a copy to read and review with my honest opinion.
Thanks for allowing this copy since it's been sitting in my tbr pile for over three years. This is Zane and Evangeline's story.
It's always nice when they are known before they become badasses, almost like a Achilles heel of sorts. Zane and Evie were meant to be but after one night and her father's murder, Zane has to flee. Evie gave birth to a son of Zane's whilst he knew nothing. She waits three years for him before marrying someone else. Years later chance throws them together again and secrets come out. Evie, now divorced, has been dating another man, president of a different biker group, and Zane has to decide to put up or shut up.
I liked Zane as a character but as a hot book boyfriend he has many faults. For one he is mad that Evie didn't wait for him. Three years of waiting wasn't good enough for him? No text, no phone call....he could of been dead. I say Evie waited long enough. YOLO! If it's meant to be it will circle around and apparently they were meant to be. Plus as a one percenter him going to turn himself in was plain stupid. That's not the point of the one percent. I like how they were going to break him out if it didn't work out. They should have locked his ass in the basement and beat the crap out of him till that stupidity fled his brain. Still the book was great and I gave it four stars of entertainment. Thanks Netgalley for a great book.
Fan for life. I eat up her words like candy. There is anyone IMO who can write a tale as good as Sarah. I love this.
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian I Dig Good Books, I was gifted my copy of this book for review.
Evie loved Zane but he broke her heart 9 years ago, when he left and didn't come back. But he DID come back, and saw Evie had moved on, and left again.
Now, faced with a danger she did not see coming, and with Zane back, can Evie let Zane back into her life, her heart?
Book three in the Sinner's Tribe series. You don't NEED to read books one and two, but I would recommend that you do. Some of what happened in those books is referenced here, and you might not get the full picture from this book.
Books one and two blew me away. This one?? Not so much. And I cannot figure out why!!
It carries the same traits as books one and two, its dark, its deadly and the characters make no bones about who they are and what they do.
Its written from both Evie and Zane's point of view in the third person.
I don't know if it was Evie herself, or Zane or the two of them together or how their story unfolded. I just can't put my bloody finger on what different and its really pissing me off!!
BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT
Its still a bloody good read, I read it in one sitting.
I loved the carryover of storylines from the other books, Axle and Viper especially.
I loved that things are left unfinished: Viper (that man has more lives than a cat!) T-Rex, Connie and Tank, Benson.
Who's next?? Is there a next?? I hope so. Too many things left up in the air, too many members without an old lady.
But I wonder. I wonder what would happen if there was a M/M pairing, rather than M/F. This I need to see, especially with all the rules regarding old ladies and girlfriends and such. Yes Ma'am! Are you listening, Ms Castille?? One of these boys needs a boy of his own.
