Song of Summer by Laura Lee Anderson

Song of Summer is an adorable YA romances with lots of swoons and a few tears, too. It was interesting reading about how Robin and Carter navigated their attraction and relationship when her life is all about music, and he is deaf. There was a bit too much drama and angst for me, centered around both of their exes, but I think that's to be expected and very fitting for the YA genre. The drama and the, at times, awkward interactions felt very real and believable. The open ending made me want to scream a little, but that's just a personal preference. All in all, very cute.

Unfortunately this book has gone in my DNF pile. It just wasn't engaging me like it would have years ago when I first requested it. My reading tastes have changed a lot over the years as I've gotten older and unfortunately some of the books requested years ago have been affected by my reading tastes and the fact that a lot of books for younger audiences haven't been grasping my attention as of late. I thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.
