Stuart Neville wrote a decent thriller in Those We Left Behind but the characters just did not catch this readers interest so much. The parole officer and the police officer were well done, but the brothers seemed almost stock characters from a thriller catalog. The story concept was good. The setting (Ireland) was nice. But the book just did not keep this reader eager to find out what happened. Maybe it was the fact that this is in the middle of a series and I had not read earlier books, but it just did not make me want to read others in the series.
