This fast quick graphic novel was quite adorable. I thought the art was cute! I felt like it was missing something though. The story had a slow pace but the ending… boom boom done! I am invested and can’t wait to read the second!

Before reading this novel, I've read the webtoon series! I was pretty invested into it for a bit, until I dropped it - but I saw this and thought it might be a good way to recap myself on the series.

Here is some of my criticisms around the series as a whole :

- It feels REALLY fast paced, it starts and it goesss. While some stories take this and stride then it falls neatly in pace, I feel like this one needed more background to play with and to set up the characters personalities instead of throwing them at us. [In the beginning this really made me dislike Sapphia]. This also applies to every other character for me, while we get bits and pieces sprinkled in, there's no major character reveals or discoveries that keep you hooked [at least not until chapters that come after what's included in this book]

- The art feels.. A bit muddy at some points? I noticed it occasionally while reading the webtoon, I assumed that it would've been cleaned up a bit when it had been revised into book form - but it seems in some parts that was not the case. I feel like this falls under the early chapters most and not something that concerns me the most, but just a little nitpick of mine.

This graphic novel was provided to me, for review, by NetGalley!

Oh man, ever since I first saw the Webcomic this has been on my radar and I am SO excited I got an ARC. Super cute, fun, and honestly has a lot more depth than I thought it would, considering the title. Definitely recommend if you like the gays and comics.

I LOVED this! The illustrations were wonderfully done and very fun and colourful. The cast of characters is great, and even thought the story is about Prince August and Princess Sapphia you still got enough background on the minor characters. This was a fun read and kept my interest through out. I can't wait for the next one!

The illustrations and colors were so adorable and fun to look at. The storyline with both Prince August, Princess Sapphia, and the side characters are also fun as introduction. We get to see everyone's personality and a little bit of background just enough to get interested to read the succeeding volumes.

High - Class Homos is a funny and charming graphic novel. I loved the friendship between Princess Sapphia and Prince August. They were warm hearted, supportive of each other, without an ounce of judgement. The art style and the coloring was beautiful.
The side characters were good too. They brought so much to the story just as much as the main characters did.
I really did have so much fun reading this, and this graphic novel had most laughing out loud moments. Overall I recommend this, if you want to read low stake, fun filled, amazing art style graphic novel, then look no further.
I'm excited for the volume 2.

This is an absolutely delightful little queer romp! August is a gay prince and Sapphia is a lesbian princess and they are best friends. With both of them under pressure to marry as the heirs to their kingdoms, they decide they should get married to each other and unite their kingdoms so that they are free to pursue romances with people they actually want to date! August has had feelings for his commander and bodyguard Percival and Sapphia has a soft spot for a few of the maids. They end up developing an adorable little friend group of queer folks between the prince, princess, and a lot of the castle staff. You can tell even just in volume one that by the end of the narrative even the side characters will each get a happily ever after sort of romance. In the meantime, there is a lot of pining and shenanigans. This is a super fun quick read and I'm looking forward to reading more. I'd highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys found family and soft queer romance in a court setting. It gave me the same sort of healing and nostalgia that So This Is Ever After by F.T. Lukens did. These are the sort of stories I wish I'd be able to read when I was a younger queer person but the rep didn't exist in these genres at the time! I am so glad they do now and I am so looking forward to seeing where this sweet little webcomic goes next.

A fun and easy plot line to follow with a diverse cast of characters! Cute romantic moments and tension with a good set up for other more dramatic plot lines in later volumes! Would recommend this to those looking to try graphic novels who want to read about LGBTQ+ characters having fun lighthearted shenanigans.

Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing via Netgalley for providing me with an early copy in exchange for an honest review!

This is so gay, and not in an early 2000's way, but in a homosexual way for real!

There is so much representation, from sexuality to gender to disability, I feel like this can connect with a good group of people in many age groups.
Its bright and colorful art got my attention, the story and smiles it provided made me stay.

The storyline itself was not serious, it's very readable for those who just want something to make them feel good about who they are and forgiving for those who are trying to figure out who they are.

This is a cute and slightly cozy story of a prince and a princess who are best friends with "unconventional" tastes romantically, and make a plan to marry each other, so they can continue on with their actual romantic interests. There's a lot of information in the first volume but I feel like it's introduced at a healthy enough pace where you won't feel too rushed or not like it's moving along enough. I can't wait to read more!

Thank you to Netgalley, Edelweiss, and Andrew McMeel Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this graphic novel. This is an amplified version of the Cursed Princess Club as far as the world building and character development goes, However, there's more romance immediately out of the gate and a smaller character cast. I am honestly not sure if it's one I would binge constantly or not, but I think if I am in the mood, I will read more. Because of these points, I have to give this a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

CW: Classism, Homophobia, Toxic Relationship

4.5 / 5 Stars

I’ve been following this story since its early days—back when it was posted on IG in lower resolution, then moved to Webtoon Canvas, then picked up as a Webtoon Original, and now, years later, it’s getting a hardcover. When I saw that announcement, I couldn’t help but smile.

High Class Homos—especially this first volume—leans more toward contemporary fantasy than high-stakes drama. This installment focuses mainly on the platonic bond between our two leads and the formation of their friend group, rather than on big plot elements. As a whole, the first season (and therefore this and the next volume too) is very character-driven. I doubt anyone expected an intense, drama-filled actien piece from a comic called High Class Homos, but I still think it’s worth pointing out so readers can appreciate the story for what it is.

Which is: a hella queer, wonderfully diverse, and heartwarming book with a feel-good core.

Final Thoughts:
If you’re looking for something wholesome, funny and full of queer joy, High Class Homos will be right up your alley.

This graphic novel was incredibly fun and clever. The artwork is very nicely done with engaging colors and I love the characters. I think it was a strong start to a story that will bring readers back for future volumes to see how relationships between the establishing couples will develop. 4.5 stars!

Perfect for anyone who's looking for a fluffy light-hearted queer comic.

I absolutely love books and movies set in medieval era with modern pop culture references.
The art style was so adorable! I really liked the characters, their dynamics, and their friendships. I was smilling and gigling several times while reading this.
The cliffhanger made me want to read volume 2 immediately.

Thank you to NetGallery and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the eARC!

High-Class Homos is a cute and humorous read. The art style is simple yet beautiful with soft shadows and line art of altering colors, while the use of highlights makes the art look "juicy" and sleek. Additionally, the characters are very expressive.

Momozerii's characters are very lively, which is why it's disappointing that a lot of that energy gets stagnated by the lack of action. Something I noticed about a third of the way through the book was that most of the story was just the characters talking to each other. The location might change, the characters might change, but they were always talking, and rarely doing.

I would have enjoyed seeing these characters doing more. Whether that be sword-fighting, throwing darts, racing up a hill, dancing, singing, etc. I think that would have added to the overall experience.

Another thing that I think would help would be to have more antagonism. Right now there's a lot drama, but not anyone or anything that is really against Sapphia and August.

All that being said, these things I'm pointing out don't ruin the story at all. These are just things that I think could take this from a 4-stars to a 5-stars review.

The story is fun, lighthearted, and brimming with jokes. There is a huge cast of characters with ranging personalities who all have different fears and goals within the story. There's also currently some breadcrumbs for more conflict down the line that I am interested in seeing play out.

Especially the stuff about Luna. When she was mentioned I was immediately like, "I wanna hear more about her.

And I can't say more than that without spoilers.

Special thanks to Netgalley for an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. It was a delightful read.

I loved this story when it was still a little baby webtoon. I'm happy to see its getting a real publication! I'm not sure my library will purchase it, but I might get a copy for myself.

*Thanks to NetGalley and Andrew's McMeel Publishing for early copy for review*

This was a good palette cleanser after reading a lot of books in August. The plot isn't very serious and more about the characters dating and it was cute. The art style is decent, but it is not my preference. If you can get access to it through a library I would recommend, but maybe not a permanent addition to your collection.
