Fiction, Police Procedural, Mystery, Thriller

Owen Smith, AKA Ballz Busta, is murdered in the early morning hours. Detectives Flo Ott and Frank Murphy are called to a meeting with the Mayor, Police Commissioner, and Senator-Elect Cecil King. The detectives are assigned as the protection detail for King. Doing double duty with investigating the murder and protection shifts, their days and nights are busy. When their main suspect is killed, they must start looking in other directions.

The book has a steady pace but then goes fast. The characters are somewhat developed, and it is written in the third person point of view. I liked the author’s writing style in this book and would read more written by him.
