Great follow on by Deborah Raney. Enjoyable story and I will have to look if there are more in the series. Really well written as always...
Dallas and Danae can not get pregnant. And after 3 years of trying and medical care, this situation has taken a toll on their marriage.
Danae is not happy with her mind preoccupated just with the unhappy thoughts, so she decides to fill her mind with something other for a change - and so she decides to become a volunteer and the women´s shelter. Seeing the sad lives of abused women, she quickly matures in her understanding of gratitude. And she and her husband grows to love a certain little boy. So they are happy to bring him home with them to celebrate the Thanksgiving, while his mother takes care of some issues. And then the tragedy strikes and they are put under hard decision.
This novel is SO warm! Sure, it is bit too positive and bit sugar-coated in all of the goodness of the main characters. But the warmness covers all of the small "sins". This novel is like a warm sweater at the rainy day plus a cup of hot cocoa just according to your taste. It is sweet, yes, but its sweetness is exactly what you just need to rest and to recharge.
