I'm a longtime viewer of Carrie's YouTube channel, and I really enjoy following her on Instagram. While I would love to hear more of her personal stories interspersed throughout the book, I'm not going to spend my time reading it any longer. In the 20% I read, I felt like all Carrie does is talk at me with "advice" that everyone already knows. Everybody makes mistakes? Yup, got it. You should apologize when you're wrong? Okay, nothing new. Plus, when I consider that this "life advice" book is written by a 22-year-old (at the time), and she outright admits she flies by the seat of her pants to get through life, this just feels like a giant money grab. Plus, while this book is only seven years old, it feels extremely dated. It was probably a fine read for teenagers back in 2015, but now it feels like a YouTuber book of its time.
