Alex Vane slipped out of the brownstone where the woman still slept that he had spent the night with. He had left her a short note. He stopped at a cart and and bought some coffee and a copy of the New York Standard. They had trimmed his story in half But at least it was above the fold. Than he read where Nation Corp- the top Internet service and cable provider and Standard media - the world’s largest media conglomerate were suppose to merge. This meant Standard Media/Nation Corp will hold dominate positions in many industries , including music, publishing, news, entertainment, cable tv, and a high speed internet. Standard Media CEO Denver Bice is expected to lead the new company. Alex really wants a job in tv news. Alex got a phone call that Eric Santiago whose trial he was to cover- did not kill Professor John Martin. Alex was used to being stopped when starting to question Eric’s innocence. The editor buries Alex’s story and hos source turns up dead. Alex had to be careful or he could end up in danger and also those around him. Camile was a professor also and John Martin's ex lover. Alex saw Camile in the courtroom and she captivated him. He followed her out of the courtroom and to the subway and they meet. Camile has expertise in media and communications. Eric and Camile decide to try to unravel Professor John Martin’s murder together. Alex wonders if his anonymous source is really trying to help him and why is the source doing this.
I enjoyed reading this book. It was a good thriller. I enjoyed the suspense and intrigue. This has a fast pace. I got pulled in on the first page and kept my interest. I liked how Camile and Alex worked together from NYC to Hawaii and back. I didn't like that some things were left unanswered. Finish what is questioned in this book. If you want to have a second book add new questions. I don’t always get the next book. I liked the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it. I would have rated this 4.5 if I could have.
