This is an amazing read! It is part of a series and this is the 3rd book of it. So it's back track for me and a new author to had to my go to list!

A wonderful piece of historical fiction. Though it's part of a trilogy it stands well alone. (I haven't read the other books in the series.) Esther is easy to connect with, Daisy is a fascinating character, and the spiritual aspects of this story are heartwarming and inspiring.

Sometimes it feels right to read a gentle book about gentle people, and such is the case with Elizabeth Byler Younts’s “Promise to Keep.”
It’s not that the story is without angst and difficulties, because they abound, but are dealt with by people with good hearts and caring for the young deaf child who has had enough problems to face.
I loved watching Joe and Esther find love in their hearts to overcome their differences in how to raise Daisy and ultimately their growing love for each other. It was more than love, it was a cultural clash that required open hearts and minds.
A sweet romance.
