Not a bad story, but must admit I struggled with the ethical issue of a GM in a relationship with one of the main hockey players. Since her father owned the team, she steps up to be the GM, and when sexy Ryker, the goalie, and her meet the sparks fly. Did enjoy this one, but skimmed a bit too. Would recommend for a quick easy read.
After feeling lukewarm about the rest of this series, this one just didnt work for me. I just dont think these hockey guys work for me.
Female Hockey GM Gray Brannon and Cold Fury goalie Ryker Evans.
Gray is smart and first female GM for NHL and she has a lot to approve to her team and to her dad. She is driven and she will run it as long as she has all the support from her team.
Ryker is trying his best by his two girls and keep everything on top shape as main goalie for Cold Fury. When he was introduced to Gray, he is feeling something strong towards her but he is not sure yet.
Gray is meeting every team member and when she met Ryker, he seems very different and she feels a pull toward her.
Now they will have to tread lightly if they want to keep their relationship. But they will have to figure out if this will be the fling or more. Plus Ryker hasn't finalized his divorce.
I liked the Gray was a very strong and smart female lead and didn't back down easily. It is an easy read and I can't wait to read about other players from Cold Fury hockey team.

Sawyer Bennett does it again! Each new book in her Cold Fury Hockey series finds a way to be better than the last. I loved that Ryker was a little older and more mature than most of the heroes from the previous books in the series. I suspected this single father would melt my heart (spoiler alert: he did). He is a fantastic father and a really good guy. I liked his no-nonsense approach to life and his relationship with his kids. Pairs with Gray so well!
Business and love can mix…
Oh can they ever! There are so many reasons why Ryker and Gray should not be together. There probably is a hockey rule book that outlines each one. Seeing how Gray and Ryker come together, work through their desire, their differences though it is hard to believe just one reason…
Gray is everything you could want in a strong female character. She balances her warmth and loving side with a straightforward, no holds barred approach to hockey, to the Cold Fury that works perfectly. Ryker is forbidden but it is hard for her to see that when their chemistry is so hot…
Ryker is performing an impossible balancing act. His daughters and his career are everything to him but it is not easy on a good day to make it all work well. Gray is giving him the gears, rightly so, but does it in a way that spurs him on to do better, for his family and for them.
Everything. I loved everything about this story. Ryker was charming even at his most devious. His warm and mushy side came out though as he and Gray worked through their differences, both on and off the ice… It was a fine line they walked and it was full of desire, laughter, worry and love… Family is at the heart of Cold Fury Hockey and each time out I’m reminded who and what that means.
Loved it!

ANOTHER WINNER FOR THE COLD FURY HOCKEY TEAM!!
Ryker and Gray are both career focused people who aren't looking for love but they can't deny the chemistry between them. Ryker is trying to make the most of the final year on his hockey contract while also juggling his newly single dad duties. I am a sucker for a single dad and Ryker was perfect!
Gray has been groomed to run the Cold Fury Hockey team her whole life and the time has come for her to take over for her dad. She has to overcome so much adversity being the first female general manager in the NHL. She has to earn the trust and respect of the naysayers and her own team. She is so tough and savvy.
I haven't missed a book in this series yet and I don't plan on it. This series is one of my faves and I am always excited for the upcoming books. Although they are all woven together the stories remain unique and special in their own right. Gray and Ryker were special because I love that they start out solely focused on their careers and both end up realizing what really matters may not be on the ice at all. It is another wonderful story in one of my favorite sports romance series.
If you love Sawyer Bennett and/or you love a great sports romance start this series and fall in love book after book just like I have.

I can't help it. I am always completely suckered in by a hockey romance. Factor in that this one takes place in my home state, and I'm done for. This has, in fact, been a complete series that has pulled me in. Not to mention that Sawyer Bennett is pretty much a go to for me.
Add in a hot single dad. Oh my. I'm beset by swoons and my ovaries are screaming. Sexy? Hell yes. I'm blushing as I furiously swipe the pages. Forbidden love? Only the most delicious kind! Can we fit another weakness of mine into one book? Maybe a little suspense, and then a pinch of adult conversation with a splash of low angst and I am eating this up!
