I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.
There were a lot of things I appreciated about this book, the first being, it was an unique take on best friends sibling. I usually can't stand these storyline because there are so many secrets and sneaking around. In this book, though, Ian was 100% upfront with Brannon about him and Neve, AND Brannon didn't make him feel guilty!! It was how most of these storylines should go! So I was very very happy about that.
I saw a lot of reviews complaining about the multiple viewpoints and stories. I actually liked that, though I wish the chapters were named with the person's name of who's viewpoint is was. I was able to figure it out, but since we're a bit harder.
I loved seeing Neve get back to her usually sassy self, and I loved for Ian was so in tune with her.
I really enjoyed this story and I'm very intrigued to see how book 2 goes!
This was a great start to a series! I loved the characters of Neve and Ian. The storyline pulled me in immediately and kept me interested throughout! I liked the way that Ian was so protective of Neve. I enjoyed watching their relationship develop, even though Eve tried to contain her secrets. The chemistry between them was great! I can't wait for the next book of the series!
Ian Campbell is LOVE! Like pure heart eyes motherfucking LOOOOVE!
Ian and Neve are such an enjoyable duo and they meet on the chances of a hot one night stand. It’s all going smoothly until Ian discovers that Neve is his boss’ sister and she is known for bringing the trouble to town.
Neve and her family have some reconciling to do and nothing brings a family back together like some asshole hunting your daughter down.
Let me tell you one thing about this book, it has one hell of a holy shit bomb drop reveal that connects everyone’s past. I was seriously taken aback by it and kind of disturbed, but it did give them all a solid point of connection. Ian is so protective and really the men in this are just gems and Neve is a strong chick with good people behind her. Really good read.
