I enjoyed the beginning of this book and was pleasantly surprised to see, even though this book is more on the fantasy and magic side of things, there were real world elements and several references to real world stuff (Grateful Dead in the beginning had me giggling). The way the spheres worked interested me quite a lot.

Hunter was one of my fav characters!

This book had so much potential but fell incredibly short. I think the main issue here was that the author just tried far too much to appeal to the youth with the constant pop culture references.

A fun and gripping fantasy, Burning Midnight was enjoyable from the first page until the very last.
