It has been a while since I last read a Torin Kerr volume, so An Ancient Peace was a nice find. Torin, is out of the Marines and working for Justice with her team that she has collected over the past several books. They are handed an under the table assignment by Military Intelligence to track down a team that was hunting for ancient H'san weapons which could destabilize relations between several races. Nice use of several tropes, detective/police procedural, plus the action sequences that make this volumes so fun. Nice use of several characters to solve the problems and overcome obstacles with more than brute force. As an added bonus, a nice ending that sets up future conflict.
