This really was one of the first YA superhero based books, so for that, I'm happy with it. Natasha is hard to do, I think, and MCU doesn't really give her much to do. It's not a GREAT story, but for being one of the first, it's okay.
I had a lot of fun with it, and I definitely think anyone who is a fan of YA books like Beautiful Creatures and a fan of the Marvel films will really enjoy this.
This was a fast paced adventure story that really let Black Widow shine. I found it to be slow in parts, but great for fans of the Marvel movie franchise.
I love Marvel, but am not a huge graphic novel lover myself. I previewed this to decide whether to add to our library collection. I believe our students would love this addition.
Okay, I LOVE Red Widow--she is my favourite avenger. But I don't think this novel really did her justice.
Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.
Thanks to NetGalley, Disney Book Group and Marvel Press for the opportunity to read and review Black Widow: Forever Red by Margaret Stohl. This first book in the Black Widow series by Margaret Stohl brings to light Natasha Romanoff's background, which was a lot darker than I would have guessed. Many surprises await as the story unfolds with heroines and heroes. I enjoyed the Russian dialogue and translations, as well as the humor that goes along with Marvel Avengers. A fun read for anyone wanting adventure with a touch of super hero added - 4 stars!
