This was a hard pass for me. It started with a dream sequel(is this amateur hour???) and then delved into what felt like bad fan fiction. Which, I guess it kind of is? I'm too critical of a reader for these kinds of books. I will say though, that young me would have loved this, back in the day when I really actually enjoyed all the not-so-great books about my favorite TV shows. So I definitely feel there is a market for this book and others like it, and I actually have friends who would thoroughly enjoy this and that I would recommend it to. It's just not the right book for me by a long shot.
As a fan of Once Upon a Time I was looking forwards to reading this. However I did find a little too simplistic and not enough detail. The characters weren't as they had been in the series and I was a little disappointed.
I LOVE Once Upon a Time and Red is one of my favorite characters so I was so excited to read this book! Sadly it let me down a little bit. Red didn't seem like she was 16 she seemed a lot younger and at times it was really annoying. By the end of the book that had changed but during a good portion I felt like she thought and acted more like a 13 year old then 16. I'm also a little unsure of it because it doesn't really follow Red's storyline in Once Upon a Time. This book was just ok for me.
