Although touted as a Beauty and the beast retelling, it really didn't need to be. In fact there were times I didn't even notice it in the plot.
It felt more like a Victorian murder mystery and it did make me giggle. i love it when an author has a sense of humour and imbues their characters with the same.
Although at times I did feel the heroine was a tad sociopathic rather than fairytale I really did enjoy it.
Just to be aware that this is part of a series which I didn't realise going in.
