This book was strange and confusing… it took a lot of twists and turns and while I enjoyed the character development I didn’t really feel like the ending gave me what I was hoping for. A solid 3 stars. Thanks NetGalley for a chance to review this book. I look forward to reading more by this author.
I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.
This has been on my TBR pile for so long, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. I really enjoyed the storyline and seeing the characters change throughout the story was a great character development. The plot was great and kept my attention. I'm glad I got the chance to read this and will be on the lookout for more in the future!
I received this book free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
3.5 Stars
This book was decent. I was drawn to the academy storyline but then when it got a little weird I wasn’t enjoying it as much. Some of it touched on mental health which didn’t really add to the story. I wasn’t really attached to the characters because I feel like the author didn’t let yo yin enough to build that. I do believe that there is probably a second book based on the ending. Also I was kind of lost when the science behind everything was being explained, it was boring.
I might consider reading the next book but I wouldn’t put it in front of others books on my list.
What a strange little book that turned out to be amazing! I can’t say much in my review without giving too much away but the plot went in a totally different direction than I expected. There was a lot more darkness and heat than I expected to find in a YA book. The writing style was great and kept me turning pages. Some of the plot was way out there but I just went with it. The ending was completely unexpected. Must read!
This book did not really do anything for me, right from the start. I found the plot that never really picked up. And a lot of what did occur was very dark and just did not seem to go anywhere. I finally just gave up and added this to my "did not finish" pile.
I did not relate or particularly like any of the characters. However, I was least impressed with the main character, Sarah. She was very gullible and weak. And she did not seem to be concerned at all about the mysterious situations surrounding her. It was unrealistic.
