The secondary characters brought enough attitude to share with everyone this time around. Loved cousin Luz and the villain was elusive enough and the reader was teased enough that guessing what/who was behind the infection was fun itself.

While a good outing, this reader was in the mood for vampires and found the read a little slow for my taste. Also, while there wasn't much to tie back to book one this read did touch on the reach of the Sortiarti and expanded the world to include magic users.
