After the attack on Pearl Harbor, ten year old Manami and her family are moved to the internment camps for Japanese Americans. Separated from her beloved dog, Manami loses her voice. The struggles that Manami’s family faces are many, but they stay together and have hope that they will have a normal life again.
An interesting look at a true and dark period in American History. Everyone should read this!
