I was a little confused by this book but I didn’t dislike it. Pretty sad though. You would need to be in the mood for something that might make you cry.

Great idea and concept for a book. A thoroughly enjoyable read. Highly recommended. .

I found this to be a very original book, I don't think I'd ever read anything quite like it. We meet the narrator when he's in a hospice and sort of learn his life story through a game he plays with his nurse.
This is a thought-provoking book that ultimately was a little too sad for me, or the frame of mind I was in, but I'm glad I read it.

This novel is written from the perspective of a 40 year old man named Ivo as he is dying in a hospice, and at a nurse’s suggestion he is basically reviewing his life by naming body parts from A to Z and thinking of a story from his life relating to it, with much of the book as his thoughts addressing “you,” a girlfriend from his past. Sorry to say that this book just didn’t really work for me. That structure was certainly different, but made for a rather disjointed and confusing narrative. Ivo was unfortunately not a particularly sympathetic character other than the fact he was dying, as he basically was a screwed up idiot most of his life, and basically caused his own situation. Depressing but not in a good way.

BOOK: The A to Z of You and Me

I actually read this book a few years ago, but for some reason the review never posted. So I am redoing it now.
This book was a tad too heavy for me. I prefer books that are fun and breezy or suspenseful. That being said it is beautifully written with amazing hindsight about chances missed. I appreciated the connections with the characters and the revelations on the life lived.
Short Synopsis (from Goodreads):
He has all kinds of everyday joy in his life -- he's young, he's in love, he has friends who promise to stand by him if life ever goes wrong.
Then one day, life does go wrong.
He makes a mistake, and it's big and unforgiveable. Now time is running out, and his life is falling apart. But he's going to put it back together again. His own way.
This is a story about how far love must stretch to gather a life in pieces -- and about how a strong friendship never dies.

I received this book for review purposes from NetGalley. ⠀

I loved this book so much that I went out and bought a copy to support the author. Cannot wait to read more! So so so good!

Likeable characters, just took me forever to get into it. Nicely written, and good setting.

I had trouble connecting with this book and was unable ro finish it, so I won't be leaving a review for it. Thank you for the chance to read it

I could not enjoy and lose myself in this book. I am not sure what I didn't enjoy
