Such an emotional and enjoyable read the whole journey across to America really stuck with me. The book is beautifully written and really captures the period it has been set in.

A book I chose to read as part of a pre-Oscars readathon a few years ago, Brooklyn is a true character study set in Ireland and Brooklyn in the 1950s. Beautifully written, evocative historical fiction, where each character has his place and each decision has its consequences. Highly recommended!
