Jake Travis is an assassin. He and his girlfriend, Kathleen, are on a European vacation. While in Paris, Jake gets an unexpected assignment. He must register under a false name and kill a cardinal near the Peter Pan statue in Kensington Gardens. After the kill, Kathleen and Jake travel back to Tampa Florida. He receives a call that he killed the wrong cardinal. Now the search is on for the right target while he searches for Renee Lambert a missing woman.

The book has a steady pace, the characters are developed, and it is written in the first-person point of view. The book is full of twists and turns that leaves you guessing until the end. If you like a action and adventure books, this would be a great choice.

This was a great installment to the Jake Travis series and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Due to the fantastic writing, I found this book very difficult to put down. The author is a masterful storyteller.

I found this book fascinating. The writing form of Robert Lane is quite different. Very conversational in tone and in some instances leaving blanks for the reader to fill in. This allows one to use your own imagination. A must read. .
