This is book 2 of Nancy Gideon's series, and I loved it-
It's set roughly 18 years after Book 1, and the main character, Nicole, suddenly discovered some alarming secrets about her family. Fleeing into the City, she launches on a journey of self-discovery amidst the underworld as she searches for love and answers along the way.
