This is the first Eve Duncan book I've read and it was interesting. I wonder if a series that has gone this long doesn't start repeating itself. I guess I'll just have to read some of the previous books.
Shadow Play is the 19th book in the Even Duncan Series, but can be read as a standalone novel.
Quite catchy romantic thriller, if you care about the swift plot with some supernatural twist and independent and fierce characters.
But a good mystery this is not. More like trying to capture a smart killer when knowing that your heroes are much more capable than him.
I also don't like my characters being all American cliche, unfortunately - men are protective cavemen, women are independent and don't give a fig about that. Don't get me wrong, I like my men protective, but I also like them human and complex, not as a romantic, well-functioning props.
Read this as a summer read to drift you away from your everyday issues.
