The officials believe he is working with John and want him to cooperate with them to bring John into custody.

The story has a fast pace, the characters are developed, and it is written in first- and third-person point of view. This is the first book in the John Hayes series. If you like action adventure stories like Jack Reacher or Jason Bourne, you will enjoy this book.

The first novel in Matthew Quirk's John Hayes thriller series.
One thing that has always characterized Quirk's novels is their relentless, gripping pacing - there hasn't been a single one of his novels that I haven't zipped through. The plots are fast-paced, engaging, sometimes silly, but always engaging and entertaining.
Hayes is an interesting protagonist, in an unusual situation for the genre. Quirk does a great job of balancing the story between Hayes and Thomas Byrne (who's sent after him).

If you're a fan of fast-paced thriller fiction, then you should really be reading Matthew Quirk.

This book was good but not over the top good. It took a lot of time for this read because capturing me from the first page just wasn't there.
The author was fast on his sequences and never gave me a moment to settle before the next. It's a fast-paced book in some ways but in others, it seemed to drag on.
Though a good story.

A decent read. If you like thrillers, this will probably get your attention. Thomas Byrne is a former military physician who now moves around the country trying to fins somewhere he can forget his past. When one of his former colleagues comes back to the US to create havoc, Byrne is called upon to help find and capture him.

Lots of twists and turns and rather fast-paced.
