RunLoveKill is aesthetically very appealing, with solid artwork style and brilliant storyboard, but as for the story, it doesn't do much. Understanding the story depends very much on reading the synopsis before going into the book, because it is all confusing otherwise in the start. Rain wants to get out of town, out of the reach of the Origami, which I initially thought was the AI controlling the town or something. She is however, lured into a trap, and has to fight her way out, while getting the help of friends she didn't know she had. Going partly into the past, and more into the landscape of Rain's head, the graphic novel is low on dialogue, instead communicating with the reader with clever visuals, and letting you build the story piece by piece. Overall, though, it takes a while for the story to make sense, and the slow pace means that even the cool art can't make this entirely an enjoyable experience.
Geez, this was bad. The writing is very uninspired and boring, fails to peak any interest. The art is not very good, either. I think the style and the coloring are both to blame. The visuals are extremely busy, there's so much in each panel, and most of the time it's not clear at all. Trust me, I zoomed in.
