Another whirlwind, whistle stop tour through time with my best girl Cassie, on yet another Pritkin rescue mission!

So, if you've seen my last review you'll know I completely adore this series. I adore it to a point where although I can understand other people's frustration with the lack of progress in a certain area, and that the thing we're all desperately hoping will happen is still just. Out. Of. Reach.... I'm just here with my arms splayed wide saying, "Tease me, Karen chance, tease me you wicked temptress!" It's almost like I don't actually want to move forward because then there will be no more books!

Even without "that thing" I just simply enjoyed being in this world again. I love the characters, the time travel, the vampire politics, the humour, the complicated romantic storyline...All of it. I've also enjoyed seeing Cassie's development over the series. She's not your typical UF heroine who's seemingly born a badass. She's absolutely had to learn every meagre skill she has the hard and long way, often with Pritkin's help. Do you remember when he helpfully pushed her off a cliff so she could learn to Shift under pressure? He's a sweetiepie, that man.

I always enjoy the pace of Chance's books. They're thrilling, high octane adventures sprinkled with humorous respites and the occasional emotional and/or romantic scene. For me, they're perfection and I can't wait for the next book, and the one after that, and the one after that........
