I love a good MMA story, but this one presents with a twist. We have an actress heroine, Parker, training to be an MMA fighter for a role in a film. Parker finds her way into Punisher Athletics where she mets owner and MMA fighter, Tyson Reed. Parker doesn't back down from the punches thrown at her, figuratively and literally. Tyson doesn't know how to block hers and she takes him down. Hard. We're provided depth and emotional insight into Parker and Tyson's childhoods to help understand their current life decisions. We experience familial interactions and the opening of emotional doors as Parker and Tyson explore the "whys" of how their family functions. I enjoy the these moments immensely as they whys have always intrigued me. Parker and Tyson's story ended abruptly for me, but they were at a healthy, "real" place. I just wanted more of them.
