Excellent read about the life of the first African-American governor. As a life-long resident of Virginia, I enjoyed the biography. Wilder does let the reader peak behind the curtain a little bit to see/hear some of his own thoughts about what was happening, about policies, etc. I want to read the biography of Mary Sue Terry next.
