My teenage son who is a science buff read this book before me as it was lurking on my Kindle for sometime. He loves maths and physics and non fiction books. This was right up his street. He devoured it in a few evenings and praised how well he thought it was written. The book deals with the prediction of the existence of the planet Vulcan and discusses how Newton developed his laws and the various scientists who tried to turn the hypothesis of the existence of the planet into a reality and the growing doubt about Newton's maths and the limits of his laws with the last third of the book devoted to Einstein and the development of his laws of relativity.
So there is a lot of history of science, explanation of key theories in physics and mathematics and a good story behind it about how our knowledge adjusts and expands over time. A good read for a science buff.
