What an amazing devotional! You can read this book without knowing Hebrew, but it is much more meaningful and enjoyable when you do!
This devotional is not written by one person, but by 54 different people, so the reader gets a variety of different viewpoints.
The first page starts with Genesis 15:6 "וְהֶאֱמִ֖ן בַּֽיהוָ֑ה וַיַּחְשְׁבֶ֥הָ לֹּ֖ו צְדָקָֽה (MT) And he believed the LORD, and he counted it to him as righteousness."(ESV)
In Hebrew, the tense is changed from the past tense to an open ended tense "was believing", which makes it an active faith.
The open ended tense looks at the process of believing as ongoing, without having a beginning an ending to the believing.
In Exodus 4:11, "Then the LORD said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the LORD?
The fact that Moses claims he is an unwilling messenger is discussed, God made Moses with his ability to understand what God has told him to do, but he is mute, or unable to share what he knows. God gave Moses his disability, but God will also give him the ability to state what he knows.
Your insight into the scriptures will increase, as will your love for God and His Word.
