When a new FBI agent Lance McGregor gets a call about the possible kidnapping, he does not know this will evolve to the most personal rescue of all of his career - as the woman involved will capture his heart.
Wow. The best from Irene Hannon yet! I delighted upon all and every of the pages as a cat upon a bowl of first-class cream.
When I say that the characters are believable and likeable (even the villain is understandable - and a formidable opponent to our heroes) and the conflict is well-written, it is a total truth - and yet it is a very weak characterization of the full package this remarkable novel is. The thrill is here. And so is the intelligent psychological drama and real evolution of the characters, the romance, the reading satisfaction.
And let me say "thank you" for the mention of the Srebrenica genocide and all the suffering during the Bosnian War.

Irene Hannon has penned a suspenseful tale that will leave you delightfully wrung out and strung out . . . in a good way! Make sure you have plenty of stuff to snack on . . .and put on that extra pot of coffee. Because once you step out on THIN ICE, it's too late to change your mind.
Christy Reed has known her share of grief, pain and loss. Robbed of the opportunity to compete for an Olympic medal, Christy then faced the double tragedy of losing her parents in a car accident and her sister to a house fire.
Or did she? A nondescript envelope re-opens old wounds, and forces Christy to once again summon up every ounce of strength and energy she possesses in order to deal with the matters at hand.
Fortunately . . . Christy is not alone.
FBI Special Agent Lance McGregor, a former Delta Force operator, is assigned to reopen the case, but he's coming up with more questions than answers. If Ginny Reed is still alive--who is the woman buried in her grave? Where is Ginny? And what does the kidnapper want with Christy? Is she merely collateral damage . . . or the focus of the kidnapper's rage?
Written in Irene Hannon's oh-so-familiar style, THIN ICE fairly crackles with tension as Special Agent McGregor and Christy Reed seek answers to the questions that have been placed before them. The hero and heroine are genuinely human, and the villain is genuinely evil! You've been warned!
And for the romantic at heart, it should be comforting to know that there is more than one fire burning!
5 stars for edge-of-your seat tension and mystery!
