I can't believe I forgot to submit my review of this title! I am a huge fan of Ayelet Tsabari, and this was a great book. Timeless, and eloquent. Rich in detail and full of sentences I wanted to read and reread.
I will not be reviewing this book because I found the writing too hard to read. I don't know if the title was translated from another language into English or if the writer is not a native English speaker/writer, but the writing doesn't flow well.
Net Galley did not give readers a feedback ratio when I first requested this novel. However, now publishers are looking at that in determining whether or not to provide a digital ARC, so I am having to go back and fill these out for titles requested more than two years ago.
This book is a compilation of short stories set mostly in Israel, with some in Canada and India. Most of the characters are Israelis of of Yemeni descent, which is the author's background. It gives a good picture of what it is like to live in Israel, be in the Israeli military and more.
