I love cowboys and this series!!!
Sweet, tender with hint of heat ...
A second chance romance with mature characters well-crafted, packed with so emotion with a touch of humor.
Can't wait for the next one!

I have read a lot of Cat Johnson's books and they keep getting better and better. I was looking for something to read, so I decided to look at my back-log of ARC's and spotted MIDNIGHT WRANGLER. Read it and loved it (review to come soon!) and went in search of the next. I was very excited when I saw that it was going to be Justin and Rohn and Bonnie's daughter that was given up for adoption at birth. I was not disappointed in the least!

Justin was a great character in the previous book so I was anticipating this one would be rather enjoyable. I wasn't wrong, but what made it not just enjoyable, but awesome, was Phoenix. From the word go she was so lovable and endearing to me-someone who I could see as one of my friends. Unlike her "perfect" parents, Phoenix is scatter-brained, unorganized, and feels like she doesn't do a lot of things right. She knew she was adopted and struggled with her stresses of living up to her parents' imaginary expectations she set for herself. Wanting to go out of the country on a relaxing trip with her best friend, she needs a passport but can't find her birth certificate. After applying for a new one, someone in the vital records office messed up and sent her original certificate that listed her birth mother, Bonnie, and not her adopted mother. Of course, anyone at this point would do what humans are naturally inclined to do...snoop! I was so excited for Phoenix to meet Bonnie and Rohn. You have no idea. I think since I knew what good people Bonnie and Rohn are (loved me some Rohn), I knew this would be a great, unexpected reunion. It had me tearing up. I loved it!

And we can't forget sweet, sexy Justin. He was weary of Phoenix at first, but eventually softened and let her come along back home with him. He was there for her when Phoenix needed it. I loved the way they were brought together and the pace. The time alone in the car helped them get to know each other, which I think falls through the crack sometimes in books as of late, and make their affection and love for each other more genuine. Now, Justin is battling some issues with his home life, himself, and I wanted to help him out any way I could and give him a hug and tell him it'll get better. He was a great partner for Phoenix. Oh and there is this part in the book where him and Rohn share a little moment and it was so nice and sweet for those two men and it made me love them both all the more!

Sexy nights + sweet love = an addicting read! MIDNIGHT HEAT was a great addition to the Midnight Cowboys series. The secondary characters help make this series pleasurable. I can't wait to read the next in the series!
