We were first introduced to Flannery Rivers in Against Doctors Orders. Flannery and her sister Harper work at the Argyle Community Hospital and as members of the Rivers family continue to work tirelessly for the people they have known all their lives.

Flannery is happy for her sister Harper, watching from the sidelines as wedding plans are made for Harper and her partner Presley. Flannery enjoys the freedom and opportunities that appear, especially the chance to have different playmates when the mood takes her.

Abigail Remy is the new woman in town having accepted the position of ER chief at the hospital. Along with her son Blake, Abigail is looking for a quiet life and a new start. Flannery is drawn to the challenge especially as Abigail refuses to swoon to Flannerys charm.

The story is a wonderful mix of community spirit and character building. A coming of age, growing older and wiser. Acknowledging that not everything is black and white and happiness comes in all different packages.

I liked Radclyffe's other books better than this one overall. Something about this one was a little off to me.
