Let me start off by saying first I am a huge fan of reality TV and watch shows like The Bachelor and Bachelorette religiously! I loved reading this story because of that! I got to not only see the on camera scenes portrayed between different “couples” but you also get the behind the scenes or off camera stuff going on as well. I have always wondered what goes on “off camera” and although this story of Rochelle and Grant is not a biography of either of these shows, it was super fun to read what we all “think” happens during them.

In How to Loose a Bachelor we get to follow Rochelle or Chelle, and her journey on a reality TV show. She is after the prize money with an added thought that if she falls for the “guy” too, that’s an added bonus. What she doesn’t know until it’s too late is that her ex-boyfriend form nearly 10 years ago is the show! She is determined not to get her heart broken by him again and to just play the game in a way to get her self away from him and sent off the show. Her plan to loose the game soon doesn’t pan out how she has planned, despite her many shenanigans, and she is faced with tough decisions throughout. I did question a few times if she was this desperate to get off the show, why not just walk off the show and leave. But that changes how the book would have played out, and I do like how it played out in the end.

Grant only goes on this show in a last minute decision when he hears she is one of the contestants, he would get to “meet”. I did have thoughts as I found this out that if he was THAT interested in seeing her again or how she was, why not just get in touch? I know they ended bad while he was in school, but he still had 10 years to reach out and never did in a way he should have. It was fun reading Grant’s attempts to win her back and get her to actually enjoy his company again.

I could go on and on about this fun second chance romantic comedy, that was how it felt to me. But you just have to read it for yourself! If you love reality TV and The Bachelor franchise in particular, this is a really fun read with no super dramatic twists.

This one was really cute. I enjoyed it and liked the characters enough. And the plot was ok too.
Something was missing for me to love it though.

YESSS!! So much YES about this book.
Was such a great story, and such a good read.
I loved the characters so much, and it was so fun to see Anna Banks in a new light. I adored her YA series, and seeing her with this fun cute romance was awesome.

Couldn't have loved this story more

I really enjoyed the book, it has everything I love in a novel from start to finish. I can’t wait to read what the author has planned next!

3 1/2 stars
Not an original story by any means, but a well written one! I enjoyed this very much, the characters were engaging and I was eager for the protagonists to find their HEA. Recommended.

I really liked this premise, and other than a few things I would have liked to see done differently, Banks wrote a really enjoyable book. My biggest issue is that I felt like I needed more out of their reunion. There was so much buildup for them getting back together that when they did, I feel like there was very little pay off.

I will say that I enjoyed the cast of characters the author put together - even if it felt like she didn't know what she wanted to do with Maya and Chris. All in all, a fun read.
