This is a novella in the Magnolia Beach series by Kimberly Lang. It can be read as a standalone though.

Sophie has decided that she wants to return to Magnolia Beach where she and her family had to suddenly leave almost 10 years ago. Sophie knows that this is just the spot for a Bed & Breakfast that she wants to open. Sophie knows that she is going to have to overcome the talk from her friends and the local people about what happened to her family, but she is a strong woman and is willing to give it a go.

Sophie and her family had to flee Magnolia Beach because of an affair that her father had with one of the high school teachers. Sophie never knew who had told about the affair, nor did she really care. Sophie just hopes that everyone can move on from that terrible time in her families life now.

Sophie gets a house and is working on fixing it up when she notices one of the local guys out walking his dog every morning. Sophie tries not to let him see her when she is watching him. She nicknames him Studly and enjoys her morning view! What Sophie doesn't realize is that the guy she is spying on is none other than the nerdy guy that she went to high school with, Quinn.

Quinn is owner of the local newspaper and has a good reputation in the town. Quinn also knows that Sophie does not recognize who he is. Although Quinn had a crush on Sophie in their high school days, he never made it knows. Quinn plans to rectify that now that he has a second chance with Sophie.

When these two meet you can immediately tell that there is something there. When the sparks between them begin to ignite, will Quinn and Sophie finally get their long awaited relationship? There is one little thing though, Quinn has a secret that he is not sure he wants to tell Sophie, but knows he needs to in order to clear his mind. Will this secret crush the budding relationship between these two? You will have to read this lovely novella to find out! I thought Kimberly Land did a good job with this one and I can't wait for more in the Magnolia Beach series!
