Tawni O'Dell has such wonderful characters in her books. This one was no exception. Really enjoyed the murder mystery aspect of it, and the setting in a rural community was excellent.

Tawni O'Dell has a fusion with the written word that goes beyond terming her an "author". "Angels Burning" , the story of Dove and her woeful family was written exquisitely. Each character was developed as though they could be a next door neighbor, albeit a not very good neighbor, in an area of town no one is thrilled with living in.

O'Dell has mastered the art of weaving between then and now, taking readers on a trip that will stay in their memories long after the last page of this book is turned. She captured me with "One of Us", and she broke my heart with "Angels Burning". One of my top gotta read authors, I will wait anxiously for the next book set in the sad, forgotten Pennsylvania ,mine towns.
