Maybe its the fact that I'm not a big sports romance fan, maybe its because I didn't read the 3 books that proceeded this one, but Katie Roses' The Heat Is On didn't do it for me, I tried restarting this book several times, to give it a really good try, but in the end, I could not finish it.

"The Heat Is On" by Katie Rose is a good, romantic story. If you're 18+ years old and love reading romance books you'll like this book.

This is my favorite of the series so far! Connor Jackson is traded to the New Jersey Sonics and hopes to fulfill his dream of winning a World Series ring while playing for his hometown team. There is another dream he hopes to pursue - that of finding the one girl he couldn't ever forget.
Tracy is happy to see Connor again and agrees to see him, but she doesn't tell him about her four children right away.
Once Connor knows the stakes, these two have to decide if what they have together is worth risking the tender feelings of her children, as well as their own hearts.
Great story with likable characters, a touching romance, and a storyline that holds interest!

Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
This was a cute story, but it felt like it was all about Tracey and I got to know very little about Connor. I get that Tracey is the one with the four kids, but there were real moments of cuteness when Connor interacted with them and we got non of his backstory. It was almost as though he was conjured out of thin air and placed in the story.
I do like that Rose had us catch up with the other Sonics and that Connor really stepped up in his role as a veteran of the game. All in all though, I was just a little confused. Tracey's mom is against them getting together and then she's all for it. Mason has problems at school, but we never talk about it anymore. I just wanted a little more tidying up I guess.
