I did like the book and the storyline. It was told in a very lyrical manner. It also made me aware of the plight that people from Mexico were facing with the deportation that went on in the 1920s. I did not know about that part of our history. My main issue with the book was that it got to be wordy. There was a good story in there but it was covered with so many extra words. I guess as I'm getting older and less focused, I'm preferring more simple in my reading :). But overall, I did enjoy the book.
