How to Fall is a new adult contemporary romance by author Rebecca Brooks. This was a decent read about two people meeting and falling in love on vacation. It wasn't anything earth shattering but I did enjoy the story. The writing is good, the characters were good and the romance was nice. It was just...missing something that I can't put my finger on that made me jump from like to love. But overall this was a good read.
In How to Fall we meet our main characters Julia and Blake. Julia is a high school teacher and during holiday break, she takes a vacation by herself to Brazil. She recently got out of an 8 year relationship and she wants to get out there and experience life. On her vacation she meets Blake at her hotel, and Blake leads a very different life than Julia. Blake is a tv show writer and he recently had a nasty public breakup with his girlfriend who was cheating on him with his best friend (yes, I know...how cliché) .And he is just trying get away for a while. His plan is to lie low and spend some time by himself, but all of that gets thrown out the window when he meets Julie.
Instead they both embark on a care free vacation fling. But will things stay care free? Will they be able to cut ties and just go on with their separate lives? Do they even still want to. Though I found this book to be fairly predictable, I don't want to ruin it for anyone. This was a nice romance overall.
