Nick Archer, DEA agent who likes to work on his own. When he hears bunch of kids talking about some random drug move, he follows them. It happens to be nothing but caffeine power bust, yet it created more problems in his field of work than anything else. So when he went back to the DEA office, his boss Bobbie asks him to get a service dog.
When Jamie Chambers, dog trainer saw Nick, she knew he was trouble. Jamie lost her husband three years ago and she didn’t believe in love anymore. She thought he was her forever love but wasn’t forever. So she sworn off all the military men.
When signing a service dog for Nick, Jamie couldn’t get her eyes off him. He was everything she was attracted to except he is belongs to DEA. When she decided to pair him with Harley, it was perfect match for each other.
Now Nick is finally paired with perfect dog but needs to learn to work and live with a Harley. For a lone wolf, this was big adjustments. He is bringing his dog to meet his quirky family. (HIs grandmother is a hoot, how loves to smoke in front of his DEA grandson) Plus hIs training sessions with Jamie are getting more interesting for Harley and Nick.
They thought their relationship is just a fling since both didn’t want any relationship. Nick doesn’t do relationship anymore after his failed marriage and Jamie just wanted a fun time. But it is not simple for both.
Now, Nick needs to find the source of drug that is killing UT students with help of his lovable companion Harley. There are some suspense towards the end..

I did like Nick and Jamie’s chemistry. They were perfect for each other. My favorite part was Harley (his obsession with strawberry) and his quirky family especially his grandmother. I can’t wait to read about his other brothers..

I’m not sure who my favorite character is in this story. Nick, Jamie, Harley or Grammy. Such a wonderful story. The strong, lovable DEA agent Nick gets a new K9 partner, Harley, from the no-nonsense trainer Jamie. And Grammy is a hoot.

Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

Okay, so now I really want a dog... Nick had no interest in having a K9 partner until he met Harley. And let's be real for a second, I feel like that was the real love story. Don't get me wrong, I liked seeing him and Jamie come together and watching her as she dealt with falling for another LEO after her husband had been killed in the line of duty, but Harley had my heart.

The plot line with the drugs was fine but a little bit involved. New characters kept popping up and it confused me. Also, I felt a little bad about Gina the bartender. I feel like I want her to meet someone.

This book, to me, was more about Nick and his DEA job and on the side, a sweet, slow romance. Nick doesn't do well with partners and is always getting in trouble with his boss , so he's assigned a new partner...a dog to sniff out drugs. Nick hates the idea till he meets Jamie, the woman who trains the dogs. But first he has to be accepted by the right dog and then Nick needs to be trained. Jamie was married briefly to a police officer, who was shot in the line of duty so she has no desire to get attached to Nick. What she does want is lots of unattached one-on-one time in the bedroom, which Nick agrees too. Jamie breaks it off before Nick's ready, as she's getting too attached and doesn't want a broken heart. Now Nick has to convince Jamie that she should take the chance on him. Good read.
