This is a great historical mystery. I really like Kitty Weeks as a character. She’s a strong woman with a good head on her shoulders and strong opinions.
The plot is interesting and quite addictive and I really enjoyed the mystery. It felt quite real although I’m not an expert in historical facts.
All in all, a very good start of a series. I will definitely read more books in this series!

Rich girl is trying to become a respectable journalist, but that's difficult to do when all you're allowed to write about is social events! She becomes involved in a murder mystery at a NYC party and ends up helping to solve the mystery AND write about it. Enjoyable romp. Reminded me of the Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries a bit so a good recommendation for fans of that Acorn series.

I usually look forward to new historical mystery series with a bit of trepidation. Some series get bogged down in the historical aspect to the detriment of the character or plot. Fortunately, Ms. Vatsal's new series does not fall into that category. The accuracy of the historical aspects, the character development and the plot all meld nicely to present a well-written book. I look forwar to continuing adventures of Kitty Weeks.

Radha Vassal stages a Front Page Affair as Kitty Weeks works for the lady's page of a New York City paper and also helps to find a murderer. Shadows of German spies during the beginning of the First World War while America stood neutral. Good reading for teens who like strong women characters.

Capability "Kitty" Weeks would love nothing more than to report on the news of the day, but she's stuck writing about fashion and society gossip over on the Ladies' Page—until a man is murdered at a high society picnic on her beat. As she becomes involved in front page reporting, her life becomes more in danger.
I enjoy historical fiction and for a change this book was not about World War 2. The author provided a well-researched book about a time period that I am not entirely familiar with. But I found myself quite absorbed in the story and turning the pages quickly to see what would happen next. The book carefully portrayed what it must have been like for a woman to operate in what was thought of as a man’s world at that time in history.
The mystery, while not graphic, was riveting enough to hold the readers interest. It was also one that you would not say to yourself after reading the second chapter of the book, “I know who did it.” I found myself doing a lot of guessing as to why some events were happening but then all was revealed at the end. I am excited about reading the next book in the series.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. The comments are my own.

I really enjoyed this first Kitty Weeks historical mystery. Kitty yearns to be a serious journalist, but instead finds herself writing about fashion and gossip on the Ladies' Page. As WWI erupts, she finds herself in the midst of a wartime conspiracy.

This was a book with a great main character and an interesting storyline. I look forward to more.
