Imagine you find yourself on the floor, with your head throbbing. You are in the unknown diner. In the unknown city. Wearing a wedding dress. And the love of your life is too cold on the phone.
How can 7 months of your life just disappear?
Lucy Lovett is confused and afraid. And just does not want to leave the life she remembers - living in Summer Harbor and loving Zac Callahan. But she has obviously left him 7 months ago without explanation. He has obviously moved on since. And there is another fiancé, even!
Lucy, scared and confused, decides just to stay in Summer Harbor, to sort it out. And try to make Zac Callahan to find love for her again.
3.5 stars.
Mixed feelings. While I love Ms Hunter's books and she is still one of the finest in the romance department, I find this story being seriously prolonged. As a novella it would be perfect - touching the difficult and sweet spots at the suitable depths. But for a book over 300 pages, there are too much filler scenes, which makes the impact to be weaker than it should be.
But having said all that, I still find the message to be very important - how the living with your past hurts (unhealed and maybe some of them unknown) might hurt you and your loved ones. How the hurt inside makes you to behave "irrationally" - but the "irrationality" is perfectly logical in the light of your past experience and pain. How the healing is important - and possible. Even if the road to healing might seem (and even be!!!) hard. How you are worthy of real love.
Didn't love this one as much as Falling Like Snowflakes, but still loved it. It was such a unique take on the amnesia storyline. I recommend this book.
Wow, this is one emotion-packed book! I really felt for both Lucy and Zac and the difficult situation they find themselves in. Zac's struggle to be there for Lucy despite his hurt and anger shows his character and strength. Lucy is hurt by his distance, and doesn't understand how she ended up rejecting him when she loves him so much. Zac's family is a bit protective of him even though they like Lucy, although she finds an ally in Beau's new wife Eden. There's a lot of heartache that Zac and Lucy work out, and the hope for reconciliation is strong as well as their chemistry together. There is a bit of suspense wondering when Lucy will regain her memory and find the answers to her secrets. I enjoyed the flashbacks to the early days of their relationship and seeing how they fell in love. Highly recommend to fans of clean contemporary romance!

Trust is key to any relationship, and it's hard to gain it back once it has been broken. The Goodbye Bride showcased that well.
However, this book was overly sensual and contained many mild expletive terms, as well as using "Lord" too loosely. This seems to be a trend with Denise Hunter's books, unfortunately.
