I didn’t have any idea what Alligator Candy was going to be about, but I was heartbroken when I found out this was a memoir of a family whose child was abducted and murdered. His brother David Kushner is the author of this well written book. This memoir touched me deeply. I Iive in Florida now, and was unaware of this case before reading this book. The author tells us the horror of the crime and the aftermath of grief. Many of his words emphasize that grief for a child comes in waves, and will devastate the children and parents left behind if one isn’t vigilant. One of the best books I have read this year.
