This series is great and I love Monica, but although this book is good, it's not one of her best, and it took me a while to read it and an even longer while to write a review.

I still enjoyed it, and to be honest everything that Monica Mccarty writes is worth a read!

The Rock, book eleven in Monica McCarty's epic Highland Guard series shows this author's talent at combining history, action and romance simultaneously. Childhood friends from different social spheres the hero and heroine of this work battle internal and external forces that seem determined to keep them apart. Yes there was a low burn simmer of sexual tension between the two main characters but ultimately it was their deeply rooted friendship that formed the solid foundation for this well written story. Highly enjoyable this book adds another dimension to a wonderful series and demonstrates why book eleven is as interesting as book one!
