Rebick's emotional and witty novel explores the sacrifice of both following your dreams and settling for less. While the characters are at times self centered and shallow, other times they express a depth that is surprising. Readers may have a hard time identifying with Allison as she swings between compromise and morality; yet readers feel a connection to Kyle who is striving to do the right thing amidst moments of weakness. There was a bit of hopelessness to the novel which partially resolved at the end, however it did not wrap up as neatly as hoped.

An interesting read, if not the highest book on my to read list, I'm glad it made it on there!
